a note from the author

Why I wrote this book for Mia

Mia has spent her life tending other people's gardens — noticing the quiet kids, making space for the loud ones, watering the parts of children that no one else seems to see. She doesn't always know how much she gives, or how far the seeds she plants travel.

I wrote this book so that one day, when she opens it, she'll see herself the way the rest of us see her: patient, kind, and quietly making the world bloom.

Mia — this one's for you.

leave a kindness

Plant something in Mia's garden

Every visitor can leave a small note — a memory, a thank-you, a kind thought. Together they grow into a garden of their own.
